Paul Edgerley
Mr. Edgerley joined Bain Capital in 1988. He has been a Managing Director since 1990. Prior to joining Bain Capital, Mr. Edgerley spent five years at Bain & Company where he worked as a consultant and a manager in the healthcare, information services, retail and automobile industries. Previously, he worked at Peat Marwick Mitchell & Company. Mr. Edgerley received an M.B.A., with Distinction, from Harvard Business School and is a Certified Public Accountant. He received a B.S. from Kansas State University.
Lawrence B. Evans
Dr. Evans is the founder and chairman of the board of Aspen Technology, Inc., a leader in supplying software and solutions to the process manufacturing industries. Dr. Evans founded AspenTech in 1981 and served as CEO until October 2002. Under his leadership, the company grew from eight founding employees to more than 1,800 employees. The company’s engineering, manufacturing, and supply-chain software is virtually a standard in the chemical, petroleum, and pharmaceutical industries. Dr. Evans was professor of chemical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1962 to 1990. In 1997 he was named Entrepreneur of the Year for high technology in the New England Region. In 1999, he was named by Fortune magazine as one of the Heroes in Manufacturing, and he received the Alumni Achievement Award from the University of Michigan. In 2001, he was elected to the National Academy of Engineering and cited for his leadership and accomplishments. He holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Oklahoma, and a master's and Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Michigan.
Peter Russo
Mr. Russo is an Entrepreneur-in Residence and the Director of the Entrepreneurial Management Institute (EMI) at the Boston University School of Management. Prior to joining the faculty at BU, Professor Russo served as the CEO of Data Instruments. He also serves as advisor and board member for a number of commercial and not-for-profit organizations. He received his MBA degree from Harvard University in 1980 and a BS degree from the Montclair State University in 1974.
Pete Simone
Mr. Simone currently serves as a director of Cymer, Inc., Oak Technology, Inc. and several private companies. He is an independent consultant to several private companies and the private equity community. Mr. Simone
previously served as Executive Chairman of SpeedFam-IPEC, Inc. a semiconductor equipment company from June 2001 to December 2002 when it was acquired by Novellus Systems, Inc. He was a director and President of Active Controls eXperts, Inc. ("ACX"), a supplier of precision motion control and smart structures technology, which was acquired by Cymer, Inc. He served as President, CEO and director of Xionics Document Technologies, Inc., a provider of embedded software solutions for printer
and copier OEMs, which was merged with Oak Technology, Inc. in January 2000. Mr. Simone served as Group Vice President of Simplex Time Recorder Company, Inc. a supplier of time management, building life safety and security software/hardware solutions. Previously, Mr. Simone held various management positions, including President and director of GCA Corporation, a manufacturer of semiconductor photolithography equipment. Mr. Simone received a B.S. in Accounting from Bentley College in 1970 and an MBA from Babson College in 1974.
