Axia Capital Partners announces a secondary close
on inaugural private equity fund, Axia Capital Partners, LP

Waltham, MA., Axia Capital Partners today announced a second close of its inaugural fund, Axia Capital Partners, L.P. Axia Capital Partners is the private equity investment arm of Axia Partners. The Fund is focused on delivering premium returns to its investors through the acquisition of under-appreciated technology companies where our General Partners can add significant value with their unique blend of strategic, operational, business development and financial skills. The Fund has evaluated over 50 opportunities since its initial close in October of 2003 and is in final stages of due diligence on several near term investment opportunities.
Axia Capital Partners seeks to invest in companies or divisions of larger companies that have unique products in niche markets but have been restricted from growth due to management limitations or the lack of investment from a parent company that views the division as non-strategic.
- The Fund targets our investments in the following industries:
- Industrial automation, controls and software
- Laboratory and life science automation, controls and software
- Sensors and Instrumentation
- Enterprise software – especially related to the manufacturing process
- Industrial capital equipment
The target profile for investment opportunities is as follows:
- Existing revenues of $2 million to $50 million
- Positive cash flow or clear path to reach positive cash flow in 6 months
- Unique products, technology and IP in a niche market
- Good functional management with strong domain knowledge
- Positive customer relationships
- Clear opportunities to grow revenue through new customer relationships, new distribution channels and/or expansion into new markets
Axia intends to significantly increase the value of acquired companies by developing a clear and focused strategy, aggressively pursuing new revenue opportunities, implementing financial and operational disciplines, adding top quality personnel to management and board positions, and growing through acquisition, if appropriate.
